The Islamist group HTS that led the offensive to oust Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, must reject "terrorism" and "violence", and that "a political way forward" is needed, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer says. "The situation is obviously very volatile in Syria. It is very good that Assad is gone but it doesn’t necessarily mean that what follows is settled by any means at all," he says while on a visit to Saudi Arabia.
