Members of Chagossian community arrive at London court after UK-Mauritius deal blocked
Two Chagossian women, Bertrice Pompe and Bernadette Dugasse, arrive at London's Royal Courts of Justice for a hearing after the High Court imposed a last-minute block on a UK government deal to return the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. Pompe and Dugasse -- both born on and displaced from the largest Chagos island, Diego Garcia -- had requested an injunction on the deal, which was granted in the early hours of Thursday morning.
